Three arrested in Kota over firing at Tiger Shroff’s car in Mumbai
Mumbai Police have arrested three men suspected of opening fire on actor Tiger Shroff’s car in Juhu, after tracking them to Rajasthan’s Kota. Investigators are examining whether the attack has any link to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
The shooting took place around 7 pm on Sunday near Pushpa Park, as Shroff was driving away from a football session. Video circulating on social media purportedly shows two men firing at his BMW through the windshield and a side window. Police initially counted three or four rounds, and several reports say the attackers arrived and fled on a motorcycle. Shroff escaped unhurt, while his driver and an autorickshaw driver were injured.
The three suspects were picked up at Kota railway station on Monday after allegedly fleeing Mumbai by train. Police have seized a motorcycle suspected to have been used in the attack. A case has been registered on charges including attempted murder, conspiracy and offences under the Arms Act. Around 15 police teams had been deployed in the hunt, and the Crime Branch has been working alongside local police. Forensic teams collected spent cartridges at the scene, and investigators are going through CCTV footage and checking whether Shroff’s movements were tracked beforehand.
Reports said individuals claiming links to the Bishnoi gang had claimed responsibility for the attack. Police have not confirmed that link and are verifying the messages as they try to establish a motive. The Bishnoi gang has previously been linked by police to attacks and threats involving Bollywood figures, including the 2024 firing outside Salman Khan’s residence.
Two film industry bodies have criticised the authorities, saying the industry has been left exposed and that gangsters are trying to spread fear in Bollywood.
